Spectraview

Enabling highest-precision and lowest-cost GHG monitoring using a “penny-sized” mass-producible photonic spectrograph chip

The Problem

Methane is responsible for a third of global warming, and various studies continue to detect new and previously under-reported emission sources. There is an increasing need for increased and precise detection, followed by aggressive mitigation. These requirements are being driven by a policy, regulatory and corporate strategies. Increasing importance is also being given to the detection of other GHGs and pollutants, such as CO2, SOx, NOx and SF6. Spectraview’s technology provides a multi-model deployable solution  across satellites, drones, balloons and mounted devices delivered more efficiently, effectively and at a lower cost.

The Solution

The patented “Spectraview photonic spectrograph” offers:

-      >100x size and weight reduction vs traditional technologies

-      Industry-leading detection sensitivity

-      Low-cost and mass-manufacturable

-      Detects multiple gases (CH4, SOx, NOx, CO2)

-      High spatial resolution

-      Deployable on satellites, drones, balloons, fixed-position mounted and aircraft
